Camp Roberts, March 19-21

Postby Heinlein on Fri Feb 05, 2010 11:46 pm

Camp Roberts Armor Battle. March 19-21.

Who's coming out? I hope to make it out to this one. It would be a good time to make up for our failed attempt to have a training event earlier this year. Any idea where we will be sleeping, etc.?

This belongs in the “event planning” area.

I don't think it really matters where what is... the only difference is the Upcoming Events forum is public and the Unit Planning forum is private. But just for consistency sake, how about let's make two topics for every battle: A public roster (so people know we're alive) and a private discussion topic (so other units can't spoil our wonderful plans). What do you think about that?

As far as attending the March battle goes, I am planning on going. Count me in! :hellyeah:

Problem fixed! Just go to the "event planning" section and check it out there.

Are you planning on coming out, Block?

I'm planning on going to this one. (more info in the private topic)

Anyone have news on the scenario, etc? I don't remember the last CHG flyer having info on this...

I would also prefer this information be in the event planning section. Frankly I don't think it's anyone's business, nor does anyone care, what our plans are or which of us are going...and having two threads about the same thing in two different sections is rather cumbersome IMHO.

Scenario is going to be the Battle for Aachen, Oct. 1944.

Robison is in, I'll see you guys there. I also think Dalton our new guy is coming out to. He is wondering if any can loan him a rifle.

As an addendum to my previous:
I think Lt. Hegland is coming with, and Lt. Burns (nurse recruit from 10th FH) as well. Both will be falling in with 45th FH, as far as I know. No Kraut nurses in my ride.

They're both good ol' (good-looking, too, but down you horndogs) American girls from back home. Does plenty for my morale....

Mike Winters and his son AJ will be going and, my son Rob will be going. I'll try and get a hold of Kevin/Tim Summerfield and maybe he can bring the troop truck.
That is 3 more foresure and, a possible 2 more.
We need to secure at least a full bottom floor in the barracks/both sgt. rooms. The 12th SS is who we should talk to about the large turn out the 9th will have. Let me know when we have an approx. total and I'll talk to John their Unit Leader.

OK, we are set on the barracks! I just got off the phone with John Marketello. He is drawing the barracks and handling it all. I told him we would have approx. 35 guys at Roberts, about 18 from the 9th ID and17 from the 3rd ID this weekend and, we will need most of a full barracks. He said he would take care of it for us.
I'm going to try and be at Roberts Friday afternoon. If anyone in the 9th or 3rd is at Roberts before me, they should start holding/securing our barracks. :hellyeah:
Also just got an e-mail from Summerfield he and Tim are going and they are bringing the truck! :D

Well, Kelly and I are still coming, but strike the other nurse (so no leg-humping possible; sorry guys) due to unforseen calamitous events.
