i'm still somewhat of a new member and have not been on this forum for some time...... for about a year or so..... I'm part of the 150th rifle division, i'm looking to be a part of the 9th ID to have a unit on the western and eastern fronts. I still have no equipment and i'm trying to find out the best places to get all that i need so that way i would be ready to come out with you guys when ever you all go out to an event. It would be very much appreciated for the help.

Hey, Jorge! I was just out at the recent Eastern Front battle at Ozena with the 70th Guards. Our website has lots of info to help and get you started. Try here first:

http://www.easy39th.com/impression.php

We have loaner gear, but not a lot considering what it may be. Start off by getting russet service shoes from either wwiiimpressions.com or atthefront.com. From there you'll want the m1937 wools and trousers and belt. In terms of web-gear, go with either of the aforementioned websites (m1923 cartridge belt, m1910 or m1928 haversack). When you get your helmet, be sure the front seam is on the front, not the back. That's pretty much a simple outline of what you'll need. We may be able to supply you with a rifle.

If you come out with us, we ask that you be willing and ready to fall in. We are strict about authenticity, so make sure your gear, hair style, etc. is correct. We also require you to read our unit primer. Its easy and quick to read and will help you get familiarized with your impression:

If you have any questions, feel free to ask!

you went out with the 70th guard this past weekend? cool, i think i saw you there. i can get the web gear and the service shoes easy, the rest not as much but i'll try to get what i can, the hardest part for me to get is the rifle. does anyone in the unit sell an M1 garand for a reasonable price? because its hard for me to get it. Basically i can get everything else pretty quick, other than that i should be good

Hi Jorge!

Thanks for posting again. You are more than welcome to join up with the 9th ID for any western front events. We do have loaner equipment available for new members, including M1 Garand rifles. Are you looking to participate with our unit for this upcoming Camp Roberts battle?

Don't worry, man. I've been with the ninth for a while now, and I'm having financial problems as well.

Unfortunately, it kinda goes along with being a student! Struggling to keep your head above water financially just plain sucks. But you have to enjoy yourself sometime, and escape the qualms of everyday life!
