Hey everyone!

My name's David, I'm a history major up at City College of San Francisco and I'm interested in Reenacting. I've sort have been surfing the 9th ID and other CHG sites for a while now, so I figured I would introduce myself. I'm interested in joining, but it's going to be on hold for a bit, until I can get a job. Nevertheless, it seems like you have an absolutely awesome group, and I'd like to know more about it!

Awesome another Nor-Cal'er! Hi David, my name's Dan, I'm also majoring in history down at De Anza College in Cupertino. Most of the membership in the 9th is Southern California based, but there's several of us from the Bay Area that drive down to events. The biggest events are actually at Camp Roberts near Paso Robles, which puts it closer to us in the Bay than those in LA; convenient huh? But anyways, we're sort of a rag tag group of guys, mostly college age, who like to go out there and try and recreate a slice of history through reenacting, and have a good deal of fun at the same time. If you've got any specific questions please feel free to ask, and I'm sure one of us will be glad to help out.

It's good to hear from another history buff. If you would like to attend an event with the 9th ID, let us know, and even if you don't own all your gear or equipment we can hook you up with some loaner stuff for the weekend. Danny is a great dude, and he represents our unit up in the nor-cal area. He can help get you situated with figuring out where to look for stuff, researching garb, all that stuff.
